About this route
A long walk of more than 26 kilometres past almost everything that makes Giethoorn special. You walk through Giethoorn and the water village of Dwarsgracht, along the Dorpsgracht and the waters of the Bovenwijde and Beulakerwijde lakes.
Along the way you pass, among other things, the Bakker windmill, the Tjasker Giethoorn Noord, Museum Giethoorn 't Olde Maat Uus and museum De Oude Aarde. The route runs through Weerribben-Wieden National Park, the area where peat was once cut.
