About this route
A bike ride of more than 44 kilometres with a surprisingly hilly character. Around Steenwijk you cycle through the De Woldberg nature reserve, a landscape of slopes and ridges from the Ice Age.
Along the way you pass through Steenwijk, with its old fortifications and the town museum, and through the villages of Tuk, Onna, Eesveen and Kallenkote. The route links the woods and hills around Steenwijk with the water landscape of Giethoorn, where you pass the Tjasker Giethoorn Noord and the Dorpsgracht, among other sights.
